"A cabaret dream, a pristine setting stirred by veils with the appearance of paradise. Unless it is a fantasized hospital room, with its clinically designed stool... From the outset, the subtly ambiguous set of 'Music-hall' (designed by Chloe Bellemere) immerses us in the both flamboyant and funerary world of Jean-Luc Lagarce's play.

Philippe Chevilley, « Music-hall » au Français : dans un paradis blanc, Les Échos, 6 juin 2021

From the very beginning, Chloe Bellemere's scenography sets an ambiguous tone. The stage, a cabaret space without any glitz, framed by a huge white veil, could just as easily resemble a hospital room where a delirious patient rambles, under the half-amused, half-despairing gaze of two nursing assistants in dark scrubs and white sneakers.

Vincent Bouquet, ‘Au Studio-Théâtre, un vénéneux Music-hall ’, SceneWeb, 8 juin 2021

In an unreal setting—a stage framed by simple white drapes—three sculptural figures engage in a peculiar choreography that elicits laughter from the audience.

Violaine de Montclos, Une femme, deux hommes, une scène : la merveille Music Hall, Le Point, 23 juin 2021

The scenography initially stands out for its entirely prosaic simplicity, designed to embrace a memory-like performance: it immediately strikes with its all-white attire. Simple hanging white curtains surround a white stage on three sides, while allowing a glimpse of a surrounding corridor, with a grey backdrop and two grey sides that define the stage space.
