Japan, 2017 — on going

Japanese people’s bodies seem to inhabit space with an instinctive geometry, positioning themselves or moving through it with tactical and precise intent. They meticulously respect the intervals between objects, between bodies, as if following the invisible grid of a checkerboard on the ground. Their movements, in a silent choreography, appear to be orchestrated by an unseen theatre director.

In urban or rural landscapes, Daily Stages seeks to capture these impressions of scenic compositions, of contemporary theatrical scenes, that spontaneously emerge from the ordinary moments of everyday life.
